Harrods and Harvey
Nicols are often the
first words which
come time to mind
when Knightsbridge is
mentioned. But not to
diminish these two
famous landmark
shops, Knightsbridge is also home to many of
the world's richest people and a Past Times
source reveals that 14 of the most expensive
streets in Britain are in Knightsbridge.
Bordering to the south of leafy and green
Hyde Park, and with strictly controlled
Conservation areas, Knightsbridge
development is limited.
This said, a limited number of sites are coming
though in the area - the Knightsbridge Army
barracks is rumoured to be a future
development space, and the old Chelsea
barracks, a stone's throw from Sloane Square,
is now well on the way with its development.
Knightsbridge property has been synonymous
with red brick mansions and white stucco
houses, many of which are divided into luxury
lateral apartments.
But you just cannot mention Knightsbridge
without thinking of the new icons on the block
- One Hyde Park, an ultra modern luxury
apartment block, but blending well with it’s
surroundings and dominating Scotch Corner.
Designed and built by the Candy Brothers,
some of the highest values in London are here
and, love them or hate them, they set a new
tone for this prime London location.
